A mortgage application checklist to help get you approved

When you’ve finally got the money together to start thinking about that first house, one of the steps you need to take is to familiarize yourself with the mortgage application process. There are a list of mortgage requirements and documents you’ll need to get together so you stand a good chance of getting approved and the keys to your dream home.

It stands to reason that anyone who will loan you money for any dwelling will want to know about your past residences. Before you start the application process, you should write down your current address as well is the last places you’ve lived going two years back. If you’re taking the big step from being a renter to a homeowner, you should list your landlord’s addresses and phone numbers going back the same amount of time.

Employers and the mortgage application process

The same goes for your employers. Any mortgage application official will want to get a good view of who you are and if you present any kind of risk for paying back the money the institution is thinking about lending you. It stands to reason they will also want to see verification of different assets, including bank account numbers and any kind of bonds or other investments.

Getting as much information together in a thorough fashion increases your chances of getting the money you want and if you have any vehicles that are paid in full ,you can add in copies of the title documents.

The bank will also want to know how much money you currently hold including outstanding credit card bills going back a few billing periods. It’s important the banks understand how much you owe on other consumer loans as well as any co-signed installment loans with the addresses of creditors and their phone numbers.
